Murry's
About This Spot
Stepping into Murry’s feels like slipping into a room where familiar comfort meets a spark of unexpected charm. Nestled just off Green Meadows Way, this American restaurant offers an inviting blend of dimmed lighting and lively energy, where the warm hum of conversation mingles with the clinking of glasses and soft background jazz. It’s a spot that balances a casual neighborhood vibe with the subtle air of a cozy jazz bar, creating a space that feels both unpretentious and quietly special.
The pace here is relaxed yet alive — a gathering place for locals looking for a hearty meal, a quiet dinner, or a casual night out with friends and family. The atmosphere is intimate, with candle-like lighting that lends a mellow glow to the room, making it a welcoming backdrop whether you’re settling in for a solo visit or sharing stories across the table.
Food at Murry’s follows suit, offering a menu that feels thoughtfully curated without fuss. Dishes arrive with homespun charm and a comforting touch, whether it’s the crispy, golden fried green pepper rings, the surprisingly tender frog legs, or a sandwich stacked with rich flavors that linger past the last bite. The kitchen’s flair for balancing classic American fare with subtle twists makes each visit feel like a discovery — familiar yet fresh.
Drinks flow alongside the meal, with an approachable wine list by the glass and thoughtfully chosen craft beers that pair naturally with the array of dishes. And if you save room for dessert, the offerings make for a quietly sweet end — think gooey butter cake or a decadently rich chocolate brownie, perfect for lingering over conversation.
While the dining room can fill up, especially on busier nights, the sense of community here remains clear. Murry’s captures that warm middle ground where tradition meets neighborhood spirit: a place where you can unwind, savor honest plates, and absorb the subtle rhythms of an evening well spent.

The food is decent but nothing special. The desert was good! The ambiance was of candle light dinner but crowded. I am sure lot of locals like it, not for me though. The service was great!

This was my first time here. We came on a Monday night and the place was packed and on a wait! I ordered the Ahi Tuna with our servers recommendations of adding pesto, tomatoes, and feta cheese. We also had the frog legs and they were amazing!

Jazz bar meets restaurant. Casual family dining. Dark atmosphere with low lighting.

Well, over 2000 people have reviewed this place, so I'm not adding anything, but I wanted to try it, so why not? I found it quaint and lively all at once. Pretty good atmosphere, which is great because it looks like nothing from the outside. A good old-fashioned restaurant feel. I had the frog legs and philly. Both were good. The philly had a really nice beef flavor that a lot of places lose in the philly making process, or because they just use low quality meat. That wasn't the case here. Service was good. Almost exceptional. Very good. Kept up with me quite often, and made sure I had what I needed. Got seated quickly too, ahead of time expectations. Biggest issue is parking. Good luck. Lol Overall great place.

This place was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to go back. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned flawlessly. We were immediately surprised when we had the first course which happened to be their onion rings. My husband decided to order the onion rings and I ordered the fries with Brie cheese dip so we could try both. They brought a large amount of onion rings and offered to bring it as an appetizer so we had something to eat while we waited for our main courses. My husband ordered the double pork patty sandwich and I had a grilled cheese. The fries and Brie were a little spicy but they went really well together. The grilled cheese was really good even though I'm pretty picky about grilled cheese. I tried a couple bites of my husband's pork and it tasted amazing. It came with barbecue sauce but the seasoning was perfect and didn't need any sauce. We tried to come back a week later but they had a 25-minute wait on a Tuesday. No surprise- their food is phenomenal. If I didn't have so many tasks tonight, we would have waited. I've been thinking about those onion rings all week. Truly spectacular. I also want to add that their prices are very reasonable for the experience that we had. I like the low lighting and the aesthetics of their establishment.

Best restaurant in Columbia, have been going here for years and is consistently my favorite! Excellent wait staff, food and atmosphere! The live music is always great and adds to the experience. There’s a reason that they’re usually so busy & have been in business 40 years!

Everything on this menu is wonderful. We had the calamari appetizer as well as this fried green peppers and the onion rings and the for dinner we had the fillet was perfectly even the steak sandwich is wonderful. You can’t go wrong at this place you just gotta get there before four. We got there at 4:15. It was still 30 minute wait really really great place and good atmosphere

Everything was amazing! From the service to the food was a truly enjoyable experience. Parking lot was a little rough. Highly recommend the onion rings and the cheesy bread! The chocolate pudding with bourbon glaze was perfection!
